What are your thoughts on musicals?

Especially musicals in tv show episodes, or an entire movie that sings and dances every 2 minutes.

I don’t mind a song or two but the whole entire movie? Hate it! And …. They are usually super cheesy

I can definitely appreciate and acknowledging the creative talent but they aren’t for me. I don’t mind a song or two but a full musical is almost always a hard no from me.

A musical movie? I can love it or not depending on the movie. In general I like them.
A musical TV episode from a show that is normally not a musical? I can't stand it.

Depends on the talent of the people singing. I love musicals, but don’t really love poor singing actors singing along to a back track (ever seen those Greys Anatomy episodes when the person is hallucinating that everyone is singing…badly.. pass…).

Depends if the songs are catchy like I love Encanto and the music from that movie but there are some musicals I can’t stand .

I think if it’s spread out through out the movie then I don’t mind singing in it. I love movies that have songs especially if they’re catchy. Literally almost every Disney princess or something has singing. 
I’ve only seen one tv musical which was my crazy ex girlfriend. I didn’t know they had singing and all I could think is why are they breaking out into a song 😂. It was funny though

Some are great and some aren't just like everything else. I love Sweeney Todd, The Producers, Westside story, most Disney movies, wizard of oz, etc. I can't stand grease, mamma Mia, or hairspray. Those stories just aren't my thing. But to me they are no different than movies, TV, music,  operas, plays, symphonies, etc...some you will like and some you won't.

I like musicals, although there's nothing less romantic than Maria bursting into song just as Captain Von Trapp is declaring his love in the gazebo on a moonlit night in The Sound of Music. When that scene comes on, I have only ever thought, "Shut up, woman! Now's not the time!"
