Membrane sweep second time mom

So I had 2 membrane sweeps with my first child and neither worked (39w, 39w4d), now I’m 40w4d with baby 2 and supposed to have a membrane sweep today. I was going to do it last week but I’ve been battling a cold and sinus infection for 2 weeks and just didn’t want to go ahead with that yet. Still not feeling great but I don’t know how much longer we can put this off. My midwife said membrane sweeps tend to be more effective on second and subsequent babies, just wondering if that was the case for any of you other second or third time moms? Not wanting to get my hopes up but also don’t want to be caught unawares, so I’m repacking my bag and trying to be prepared before I go to my appointment. Any feedback?
