Are ear or oral thermometers more accurate?

The ear thermometer says I have a fever of 100.5°F and the oral one says 99.3°F. I also feel very sick, which is why I took my temp in the first place.

I had that kind of temperature reading when I tested positive for Covid. It was low grade 99-101 but mostly stayed at 99, just enough to know it’s there.

99.3 isn't a fever. 100.3-100.5 is a low grade fever. Keep an eye on it.

Tympanic temperature readings are generally a degree higher than oral.  Based on what you've said, you don't have a fever.

You don’t have a fever. Oral temp is true temp and is most accurate next to rectal.
