IUD (Paragard) Removal

Elisabeth

I've had the Paragard IUD for about three years. It has been perfect. But, it did make me bleed more and cause some heavy cramping. I always dealt with it because I don't personally believe hormonal birth control is healthy for the body.

However, I decided to have my tubes removed (surgery tomorrow) and knew my IUD would be removed. I'm certain I dont want any more children ever but I was still mourning my fertility only because I'm losing it.

Well apparently my body is mourning as well and thinks we should get pregnant again. All morning I felt crampy and mildly nauseous. I sat down on my bed and felt a weird spasm, so I went to the bathroom and realized my strings were lower than usual. I wrapped it around my middle finger and tugged gently and BOOM Paragard in my hand.

It felt like a mild pinch and out it came. I DONT RECOMMEND YOU DO THIS. It just happened and nothing bad came of it. Anyway, thought yall would get a kick out of seeing it.
