clearblue false positive? evaporation line?
i want to start out by saying i’ve not missed my period, it is supposed to start in 6 days. & i am fully aware you are not technically supposed to test until you miss your period. but here’s my story.
yesterday around 3:00pm i took a clearblue (the blue dye) pregnancy test. 3-5 minutes pass and i look and it is negative. i’m like “okay” and go about the rest of my afternoon. I was still a little anxious about it so i decided to look back at that same test about 5 hours later and there is a faint line (making a +). the vertical line is slightly darker and very thin on one side, and the rest of the vertical line is kind of colorless.
i immediately pulled out my 2nd pregnancy test that i had on hand (came from the came box as the first one) and i take it. it looks negative in the recommended 3-5 mins. i also test one of the walmart 88 cent ones i had and it looked negative. at this point i’m still on edge so i went and got more, but i kept the clearblue & walmart test with me, keeping it flat as possible. 20 mins go by and i arrive at the store. i look at the clearblue test and i see a faint line appearing but it’s darker on one side but the rest of the line is colorless. this is exactly how the 1st one i took looked. the walmart 88 cent one remained with one dark line, indicating a negative.
i go in and buy some more test and took a digital clear blue in the walmart bathroom. it showed “not pregnant.”. then when i got home, i tried another test (clear blue brand but this time it was the pink dye ones). it was a hard negative, not even the slightest line, and still looks like that now.
so this morning comes around & can you guess? i took the 2nd pink dye one from that same box. another negative.
i might sound nuts for testing so many times but i am left confused. i never had heard about evaporation lines until i looked it up last night. i know that after the testing time window, the test should be considered invalid.
here on eve, i’ve found women saying to not trust the blue dye tests because evaporation lines are much more possible with those.
im unsure but i think im not pregnant. the ones that gave me the “positive” was the same type of test, from the same box, and only came up 20+ mins after. (which is considered invalid, right?) That is 2 against the other 4 i took that showed negative.
I know this is a lot and you may not understand what i’m saying but your opinion would help me out and reassure my mind. any thoughts or information you know would be gladly appreciated. thanks
