Cats littering
Hi there!
I am just wondering if this is a male/female cat thing or a my male cat vs my female cat thing 😅
There are various differences between our cats.. We've both gotten them for free from colleagues.
They're both very gentle and are nice to the kids, my male cat is more reserved, he stays away from people he doesn't know well.
My female cat likes and approaches everyone.
My female cat is about half a year older then my male cat, she was born on an apartment and hadn't been outside before we got her. She was very outside minded, she was constantly guarding doors to get out.
When we moved, we allowed her to roam (obviously a big no-no in the US, I've noticed here, but quite normal in the neighborhoods we've lived in)
Our male cat had a tame mother and a wild father. When we got him he'd been inside but mostly lived in these people's yard.
He was very us-minded and we could let him outside he'd just follow us around. He also likes to be inside from time to time, unlike my female he doesn't freak out if he doesn't get to go outside he's just a bit more laid back...
So they're very different cats.. Both are about 5 years now.
They prefer doing their business outside so eventually we removed our litter box. With the stormy weather lately we've placed a new litterbox, where we had an closed litterbox earlier, we now have an open one.
And I'm now noticing a "huge" difference between the cats.. (what I wouldn't notice before because the box was closed)
My female is digging a pit, doing her business, burying the business.. Which seems normal behavior for a cat.
My male just steps in, does business, steps out, all business still revealed.
I'm just kind of wondering if this is typical for male cats, typical for born outside cats, or just my cat 😂
These are my cats 😊
