Quick MIL Story & Survey

My second son looks just like my husband. My first does sometimes but not always so we didn’t get tons of comments.

Lots of people make comments about this one.

“He looks just like his daddy!”

“He’s a little mini me”

Etc

My MIL repeatedly comments “well, there’s no question about who his father is!” “There’s no denying who his daddy is”

Am I overthinking it to be offended by that?

Am I being overly sensitive?

It just seems so complimentary to the father but so disrespectful to the woman. There are no divorces in any of our immediate family and my husband and I have a faithful, healthy marriage and my MIL has no doubt in her mind about that. Though said jokingly, to me it implies that there was a chance it could be otherwise. It’s disrespectful. I know my MIL doesn’t intend it that way at all, it’s just a common phrase she’s saying thoughtlessly.

Does it bother anyone else when people say this to them or just me???
