Birth control white pills??

Hey guys!! So this is my first experience with pills. My app says I’m due to start my period in 7 days, but I only have 3 pills left… do I take the white ones if I want a period? Not take any until after my period?? Help?

Forget about that the app says. Ur “periods”, which are actually just withdrawal or breakthrough bleedings now & not a real menstrual period, are controlled by the pills. Ur pill leaflet explains when ur “period” should occur, granted ur on a combination pill, so read that if u haven’t already. 
That said, with combination pills, ur “period” should typically come during the placebo (sugar) pills/break week. The placebo pills are a different color than the rest of the pills. If there are no placebo pills, then u simply have a pill-free week, in which u take no pill for 7 days & then start a new pack. 
If ur on a progestin only/mini pill, then u don’t have a placebo or break week & just immediately start a new pack once u have taken all the pills. Progestin only methods are most known for causing irregular bleeding patterns. That can include longer time frames with or without bleeding (including no bleeding at all), random bleeding, or frequent bleeding, at any given time. Therefore, ur “periods” will more than likely be irregular/unpredictable, if u get a period at all.
