Cetrotide side effects, how can I avoid them?

Hi.…… Yesterday I took my first cetrotide injection
and i felt itchiness, bruising, redness, swelling at
injection side and almost hive like bump for
almost 2 hours. Tonight I have to take another
cetrotide, so I am reaching out to know if you
guys could provide me any suggestions that
would help me avoid all these side effects.

I had the same reaction every time I did the injection. I followed up with my doctor and she said that’s a normal reaction when using that medication. It’s annoying but it goes away. The price we pay unfortunately :(

I had a similar reaction for the first couple days of cetrotide. After a couple of days I didn’t get a reaction.  Hopefully it goes away for you as well.

This is normal. You’ll be fine, I’d say if you experience swelling in the face, tongue or unable to breathe to go to the ER.
