Going to the gym with my baby!?

I was going to go to the gym that had daycare but they want me to pay $300 up front and then $100 for the month and all of the following months. I’m livid. It was never that expensive before. There’s a 24/7 gym I can go for 50 a month or $275 a year. No daycare. I was thinking I can always take my newborn to the gym with me. Does anyone else do this? Some days I might be able to find someone to watch my kids but when I can’t the older one can sit with husband. The baby cannot sit with him for other reasons.

I mean you’re paying for the gym and childcare, it’s really not that uncommon. And seems pretty reasonable 100$ a month isn’t bad for childcare anytime you go to the gym and the gym itself. That goes to pay, cleaning supplies, upkeep of equipment.

I think that’s super reasonable.  My gym has a higher initiation fee, but it’s $100/month. And you pay for childcare on top of that.   If you have the other option and that gym is fine, then just go to the cheaper one, right?

You still have to pay the daycare price. It's not free, they have designated people to work that position who also need to be paid. $100 a month for the gym/daycare ain't bad!! What's the $300 upfront for though?

It’s highly unlikely you’d find any gym that would let you bring a baby with you due to insurance reasons

This is why we bought all our own gym equipment. 3 kids later and no way could we find time nor have the money for gym daycare on top of gym membership

You're likely not going to be able to bring your child with you. I manage a daycare inside a gym. We have a very strict no children on the floor (stroller or not) it's a legal liability issue. Spend the money to get the gym with the daycare. That's a pretty standard rate

Honestly, that's not bad. My gym with childcare is the same cost. Depending on how often you go to the gym, it breaks the price per hour of childcare down to anywhere between $3.33 (if you go every day of the month) - $12.50 (if you just go on weekends). Childcare near me is about $10/hour, so it's like paying for babysitting and getting a free gym membership.
