Perineum Tear Healing Time

Hello beautiful people 😊 I have a question about my stitches. I’m a first time mummy, so the healing process after giving birth is a new thing for me. My little girl came out with her fists over her ears, which caused me to have a 3rd degree tear (see photo for reference). I was told it would take 2-3 weeks for my stitches to dissolve and heal. I’m now 5 1/2 weeks post natal and my stitches are still very much there - I can feel them when I dry myself after a shower or going to the toilet. I know everyone is different, but should I be concerned that’s it’s taking this long for my stitches to heal? If anyone else can share their experience it’d be greatly appreciated ♥️ Thank you x
