Hey everyone! So, birth control is something I’ve been thinking about for a long time, both for pregnancy prevention purposes and for controlling my PMDD symptoms. I’m a bit of a mess with remembering things, so I’m looking to get something like an IUD or Nexplanon. I was just wondering though, does it affect your sex drive? There are two points in my cycle when I tend to be more easily excitable/more interested in sex, being my fertile window/ovulation and a few days before my period, but don’t IUDs and Nexplanon eventually stop both ovulation and your period? Or at least they aim to? So, I question, what’s the point of getting it for pregnancy prevention purposes if I’m never going to be interested in sex anymore? I already almost never have sex for fear of pregnancy, and it’s beginning to feel limiting. I don’t want to have those chemicals constantly in my body if they’re not truly going to serve their purpose. Does anyone have experience with this that you can tell me about? I’m really trying to consider all factors and make an educated decision here.
