Does bcbsTX cover d&c?

Question

Does anyone know if BCBS TEXAS specifically covers D&C? I miscarried at 10 weeks and due for a D&C Monday, but knowing TEXAS I know they would probably think removing a passed baby is an abortion but I didn’t have one, I wanted my child, but my child didn’t live. I’m going thru it right now. I don’t wanna be hit with a big bill as well after a terrible loss.

Sorry I’m not in TX but in FL, had to d&c in Nov ‘18. First I’m so sorry for your loss. Second, something on one of my hospital papers did include the word abort which really drove me crazy but I try to remind myself it was referring to the premature end of the pregnancy, not necessarily meaning it was by my choice. I also have BCBS and the procedure was covered as any other outpatient procedure would be. For me the doctors fee was paid in full but I owed part of the hospital facility charge and the anesthesiologist fee. They were applied to my deductible and totaled about $1200 if I remember correctly. But nothing with the insurance coverage had anything to do with it being d&c different from if I’d had a colonoscopy etc.
