What age did your toddler stop using a high chair?

My son is 1.5 years old and seems to hate the high chair. Spending all his time trying to get out of it instead of eating. Just wondering if this is common for this age? I figured we had more time haha

My first hated the high chair so we got rid of it at 7 months and she sat in a booster at the table. What a waste of money for us lol. So with my second we skipped the high chair entirely and only used a booster.

Both my 2 and 4 year old still sit in their high chairs, but they have Tripp trapp chairs so they are correctly adjusted and they sit really well and doesn't ask to sit elsewhere.

After her 3rd birthday by her own choice. I mean she would alternate between her high chair and booster seat but I never said no if she wanted to sit in the high chair. She officially gave up the highchair after her 3rd birthday

It was different for all of mine. My oldest stopped using a high chair and started using a booster chair at the table around 9 months. He started using a regular chair when he could reach the table around 2.5. My middle son, who has autism, only recently switched to a booster chair at 3. And my youngest is 21 months and switched to a booster chair around 12 months.

My son has tried to get out of it since he was put in there... He is also 1.5.
But I don't think he will be eating in the dinner table chair also. So we use the Ikea chair strapa to keep him in. And he tries then gives up, eats and repeat. I don't see him sitting on a regular chair for at least half a year more... But you never know. 🤷‍♀️

We went from a high chair to this. My oldest was 18 months or so and my second was 16 months.
