I didn't invite the in laws to my house warming because...
They are horrible communicators and extremely unreliable. I moved to my hubby's hometown cuz at the time it was best but over 3 years I found this out the hard way
I am a family oriented person but they aren't, my husband tried to warn me. Even after the first epic fail of me communicating with them, giving step by step detail only to still come down crashing and burning. I observed that my sis in law was wishy washy ik plenty of people like that but I gave her the benefit of the doubt we were still getting to know each other
My husband and I have a set of twins and a baby girl that is special needs. She requires frequent doctors visit with several specialist and weekly therapy. His mom and sister out the blue could no longer babysit like ever which didn't bother me I feel like they have that right
Months go by we barely see them I am now very busy, always on the go. I get a text from my sis in law asking if they could come over, I say sure. I was raised on when guests come over it should be clean and as a host you make them comfortable. I was still busy on a Saturday but I made plans to accommodate my guests all for them not to show. I thought it was rude but my husband didn't, he shared their perspective with me so I stopped being family oriented with them I focused on my kids, marriage and myself. I never gave them another thought
When we were ready to find a house the market in our area was through the roof but one day I took a glance at the next state over. Found a match a week later, saw it, made an offer and sealed the deal. It was only an hour away, I also had two or three relatives there so it was a good move
I throw a house warming my family showed up from all over TX, NY, CA & IL my in laws see it on snapchat and honey were they upset! Called my husband, he defended me mind you he had nothing to do with the event it was all me and now his sister is texting me but I'm not responding until they calm down. I made the decision not to invite them based off history how was that wrong?
