Lotus birth thoughts

I've recently come across what a lotus birth is and I'm beyond fascinated by it. I love the benefits it provides the baby. What do you all think about a lotus birth?

If you're unsure what a lotus birth is, it's when you leave the placenta attached to the baby. The cord dries out and falls off on its own as it's meant to. As it's still attached it continues to feed the baby and build the babies immune system. It can be very beneficial to the baby and later growth and immune system strength. As far as I know, so if I am wrong feel free to politely educate me further. Thank you.
