How does the new system work?

So it’s been 2 years since I was last pregnant which means it’s all changed since I had my last.. how does the new “confirm a pregnancy work” in the uk? I rang doctors they told me to fill out a form on nhs website? How does this work how long until I get a midwife appointment do I get a scan through post

U have a booking appt between 8-10 weeks. That’s ur first appt. It is that appt that triggers the booking of ur 12 week scan and u get a letter thru the post with the date for that after ur booking appt.

After you’ve done the self referral on the nhs website it should be a couple of days and you’ll get a call from a midwife giving you a booking appointment, that booking appointment may not be for a couple weeks but don’t worry that’s absolutely fine, after that depending on how far along you are, your midwife will request you 11-13 week scan at the hospital and you will most likely receive the appointment details through a letter… hope this helps ❤️

I just called my booking line which I googled and they made the appointments for me one for midwife and one for ultrasound x
