Very small intimate wedding?

Question

Has anyone done a small intimate wedding? What did yous do?
We don't have very big families, and even then both of our families are in different countries, and we aren't close enough to ask them to come here for a wedding, plus we don't really want to invite them.
I'm not sure what we can do, when I Google small wedding ideas, they are all for 30-40 people, since when is that small?
For us it would be between 5-10 people, including kids.
Or it could just be the two of us?
Not 100% sure yet but this whole wedding planning thing is making me so anxious.
What did you do?
My partner definatley doesn't want a courthouse wedding so that's out the window

We eloped in Vegas just the two of us and it was amazing! We want a real ceremony one day but it’s not the most realistic as our family is very spread out across the country

Not sure what it’s like in your country but in NZ we have to have two witnesses to sign the marriage licence. We recently got married a month ago in my FILs backyard. We had us, our three kids and our parents so about 10 people all up. Just what we wanted. We didn’t even want a wedding but legally you have to do at least that small ceremony.

I had roughly 12-13. We went to a Justice of the Peace and then out to eat.

I got married in a tax office in WA state. We paid the 50% deposit ($25) to schedule and were supposed to pay the rest after the ceremony. My MIL and FIL were the only guests (needed 2 witnesses and they were visiting). My MIL cried and the officiant didn't make us pay the rest. It was perfect.

I got married on 2020 so we were lucky and didn’t have to make that many excuses, his family is in the same country but they’re not close, my family is in a different country so they didn’t come either… it was only my husband my kid our priest his assistant (also my husbands friend) and the assistants friend and her son… we did it at our very small church and had fried chicken afterwards lol that was it nothing too complicated

Me and my fiancé are getting married next month. It’ll be just us two and our two children! We didn’t want our families there. We booked a venue and a little cabin honeymoon stay to go with it. I’m excited and glad it’ll be just us. I hate people staring at me as well lol. So I feel like we will be more ourselves.

We had 15 guests. It was in the backyard looking out over the hills. It was more a family gathering with a small ceremony at the beginning. We did a build your own taco bar, served beer and wine, and did a pretty basic but absolutely delicious cake. It was a perfect day- incredibly low stress and everyone enjoyed themselves. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

My husband and I got married on the beach in December, I wore a white sweatshirt I had made they said bride and the date on the sleeve. We invited whoever wanted to come, maybe 10 people? Then about a month later our family threw us a reception dinner to celebrate with friends and family. We saved SO much money doing it that way. To us, the wedding wasn’t about the money and the stuff, it was about the marriage. We didn’t feel the need to drop a ton of money on one day. It was still special to us

We did our wedding in my father in law’s backyard (on Halloween!) it was during the height of Covid so we only had about 12 or 13 of us (husband and myself included). We had a bunch of fires going,because Halloween in Ohio is usually not warm haha but we had bbq and cupcakes outside,a family friend who happened to be a dj to play songs for us, and my best friend officiated. We’d wanted a bigger wedding but couldn’t because of Covid, and honestly it was so much cheaper and just as much fun without being so nerve wracking!
