Date Night Dilemma
I'm a SAHM of two young kids and 22 weeks pregnant. My husband and I have date night scheduled for Friday. We have dinner reservations at 8:00 and a movie showing at 9:30. Both are an hour away from us. 😅 I'm distraught because I can't seem to stay awake very long at night. The past two nights we've watched a movie at home and I've fallen asleep at 9:00 during it. We probably won't get home until probably 1am, and I have to get up at 6:00 with the kiddos.
As if I'm not stressed out enough, my husband says, "When are you going to get ready for date night? When will you have time?" Good question. I was going to try to nap during my kiddos' nap/quiet time. But then I realized that's when I need to bake the cake for the Easter party on Saturday. I COULD try to do both during quiet time. Get ready while the cake bakes? But that will be around noon. We leave the house at 7.
My husband gets home around 4:00. Kids eat dinner at 4:00, and then from 4:30-5:30 we play. This is when my husband will shower and get ready. At 5: 50 I lay the youngest down and then clean the playroom. At 6:40 I start my oldest's bedtime routine and have her down at 6:50.
When did date night get so complicated? 🤦♀️ My husband will only go to certain theaters, so it makes it tough. And showtimes are so late! Should I avoid caffeine all day and then have my daily 200mg around 7:00? 🤦♀️
ETA: he is adamant we see this movie and we see it Friday. Sigh. I just wish we could see it locally, but he's also very adamant it has to be in IMAX. It's sad because I'm excited about the movie and we've waited forever for it to come out, but I feel like I will fall asleep.
