So a few things. Dilation means nothing at this point. You could be 3cm dilated and still go past your due date. Or you could not be dilated at all and go into labor tomorrow.
Also, there is no reason to have restrictions on your labor just because it’s a vbac. It’s totally normal to go past your due date and that shouldn’t mean automatic csection. You could also choose induction. Your doc is putting arbitrary restrictions on you that aren’t what ACOG recommends. 
I wouldn’t stress about it, I also just wouldn’t show up if they tried to schedule me for a csection at my due date. I had an electively induced vbac past my due date and just 16 months after my csection last time. Now I’ll be induced at 39 weeks with this 2vbac

I don’t have much good news from my experience but I was 5cm from 37 to 40+6 weeks with my second pregnancy when I finally elected to get induced😅

I would encourage chiro care maybe. It helps the baby descend into the pelvis to put pressure on the cervix also a yoga ball daily. Those types of things encourage baby to go down ❤️❤️

I find it so strange that the ‘norm’ in the US seems to be that you get cervical checks at this point. 
Here they won’t usually do ‘checks’ or sweeps until full term or close to, unless there is a medical need for early induction.

It’s very normal to go past your due date with very little dilation! Most women that go into labour naturally so do after their due date :) 
I was induced at 41+3 and was only a finger tip dilated when they put the foley balloon in lol
Hang in there, and remember it’s best for baby and you for baby to stay in until they are ready!

It will not put you into labor but will help soften your cervix .

Dr said I was like a 1/2 cm and only 50% effaced for my first vbac from 36 weeks on. I went into spontaneous labor at 39+2 but it wouldn't regulate...but I had dialed to a 4 by 39+4. My doctor decided to augment labor by breaking my water. Everything went smoothly after that and she was born that day! You could be just fine!
