Cold sore meds?

My dr asked me at my 34 week appt if I ever had a cold sore and I said yes because I remember having one on my lip when I was in elementary school. She then asked if I wanted to start some kind of cold sore suppression medication at 36 weeks to make sure I didn’t get one close to delivery.

I don’t remember them asking me this during my first pregnancy. Anyone else ever had a cold sore and got asked this or did decide to take whatever RX they’re talking about?
