Circumcision

The doc or nurse hasn't called back yet. My son is two weeks. I've seen some docs allow parents to give tylenol after circumcision. Did you give your child pain meds and if so how much for a newborn.

I'd 100% ask the doctor how much to give him because it's based on his size and his medical history. Or if he's not getting back to you, maybe call a nurse line at the pediatricians and ask for their advice, I think they usually have a number if the doctor isn't answering.

We were told to wait to do circumcision until he was growing or gained his birth weight - I forget. My husband is anti meds so we didn’t give any .

I don’t think we gave our son Tylenol but he didn’t need it. Don’t forget Vaseline on diaper/gauze! I believe infant Tylenol will tell you how much to give based on weight — verify with doctor, but I’d look at that

Our urologist gave us a Tylenol schedule. He recommended 0.5ml every… oh my gosh I forget ummm. Ummm maybe 4 hours for the first 24 hours and as needed after that. It was not needed after that so we did not give any after. Don’t quote me on the 4 hour thing though cause I cannot remember even those it was only 10 months ago 😥 the dose was also based off how big our son was at the time so the dosage would be different as well.

They gave my son Tylenol after getting it done but they did it while he was in the NICU the day we were taking him home other then that I didn't give it to him

Is he still having pain 2 weeks later? If it still looks unhealed and painful I’d talk to the doctor for sure. ❤️

We didn’t give him any pain meds after our sons circumcision, and he did just fine. But I was also still in the hospital after having him.

Usually infants Tylenol but for exact dosage I'd ask doc maybe if the office doesn't call you back call the hospital maternity ward and explain the situation the doct that's at the hospital would be able to give you safe doseage instructions
