Delayed cord clamping?

Has anyone done this? I’ve been hearing about it lately and plan to ask my doctor at my next appointment, but I thought I would ask here and see if any of you ladies have done this and what exactly are the benefits to this? Are there any cons?
A week or two ago was the first I have ever heard about this. I’m learning a lot of places it’s “standard practice” but when I had my daughter a year and a half ago they made my husband immediately cut the cord or whatever so this is new to me.

We've done it with all 3 of our babies, varying times. My midwife does it as standard. I think for one it was nearly 2 hours, for my last out was only about 30 minutes. There is a lot of blood in the cord that delaying the cord clamp allows baby to get. As far as I know, there are no cons.

I plan to do it with my baby. Most hospitals do it automatically. Not for super long but for like 5 minutes until it stops pumping blood.

I hate to put my opinion in especially with little experience. I definitely think you should speak to your doctor about this, pros vs cons. If your baby is healthy, I don't see what the need would be for.

I’m going to delay only for 5 minutes or so just to get the blood pumping in my baby to increase his red blood cell volume and lower the risk of infant anemia. I know some people wait longer, but from what I’ve read, waiting until the placenta stops pulsing is adequate.

we did it for like 5 mins but due to babies heart rate during labour and him not crying straight away they wanted him off it to check him over properly. Turns out baby boy just wasn’t a cryer 😅

For both my babies, we waited to cut the cord until it stopped pulsating, turned white, and the placenta delivered. 
This time frame can be different for each birth/baby and can be anywhere from 10-60 min after birth

We did it until it stopped pulsing, so 6 minutes total. I think it definitely helped my baby have a better start since she got all her blood back
