Is there a difference between “I love you” and “love you”?

I am trying not to start a fight lol but my bf has been in a grumpy mood lately and he only says “love you” over text and in person, when he used to say “I love you” or “I love you so much.” So you guys care about the difference in your relationships? Should I say something?

Personally I feel like once you actually do the official “I love you” that love you works too I say it all the time and I still mean it

Hmmm, I used to say love you when I was annoyed or mad. But now I say it normally and so does my husband . Means the same thing to me at this point . Ask him!

I mean, my husband and I say "love you" casualty, like when leaving we'll say "Love you, bye" and "I love you" in more intimate situations. 
So yeah, there's a diffence. One is causal and one is more intimate. I wouldn't look too much into it though. It's not a red flag or anything.

I think if they have said I love you every time they said it and then all of a sudden they changed it to love you I would be wondering why. Maybe ask him and see what he says but do it when he's not expecting so he doesn't see the question coming and doesn't have time to come up with a answer

It depends. In your situation, if he used to say “i love you so much” very often. And is now all of the sudden only saying “love you” then i would be concerned. You can tell someones energy based of what they say and how they say it. If you think something is up, there probably is.
