Boyfriend brings up exes CONSTANTLY

Hello everyone!

I’m just looking for some advice!

So, my boyfriend and I (23 & 21) have been together for about two years and have lived together for a year and a half.

Since we have been dating my boyfriend has always brought up his ex girlfriends but I think that lately I’ve been noticing it much more.

He will bring up his exes at any opportunity and will go into stories about them without provocation. For example, he measures time by whichever girl he was with during that time (I.e. “oh that was when I was dating Emily and we did so and so”).

This by itself is not super concerning, like yes it’s abnormal how often he talks about these girls. But the worst part is that their all “crazy” and “psychotic” (I know RED FLAG). All I can think about is what kind of stories he’ll tell about me if we ever break up!

I have brought the subject up before but he just denies calling “all” his exes crazy even though he absolutely has. Am I overreacting? I just find it so unnecessary to bring up. And he ruins basically every night by bringing up some ex. For example, we were taking a nice walk tonight and he brought up some ex (who he recently had been texting with :/) and couldn’t understand why I got upset and was quiet and distant for the rest of the night…

Any advice would be appreciated!
