Did you use a nipple shield? And, if so, when did you ween off of it?

I used them the first few weeks until I saw a lactation consultant who told me that nipple shields can jeopardise milk supply. Mind you it was my midwife who told me to get nipple shields in the first place 🤷‍♀️

We stopped using them after about 3 months

Weaned at 5 months, he just all of a sudden didn’t want it anymore. I had tried to wean before unsuccessfully, but it didn’t effect my supply so I didn’t push it.

Yes, used it for 2 months. Once it didn't hurt me, I took it off and nursed without. Didn't make any difference to baby.

Only use it if an ilbc told you to use it 
Get a consultation with an ilbc may be something else going on with latch such as lip tie etc

Yes, my baby weaned spontaneously at around the 2 month mark. She had ties that were not released and needed help Latching until her mouth got bigger. One day she just started rejecting them and I quit cold Turkey with it. Never had any issues with/ without them but it’s definitely more convenient now. I didn’t push the weaning- I figured it was more important I had a successful breastfeeding experience with a shield than a failed BF experience without one. I followed her lead on it
