Missed miscarriage?? Help!
At 4.3 weeks my beta hcg was 4651, 48 hours later my beta hcg was 5041, almost a 400 increase (8% increase). I called my doctor, she advised me to go to the ED for possible ectopic. There I got a transvaginal ultrasound, which showed the baby was in my uterus. My beta hcg taken at the ER was 4631. When I asked the ER doc about the dip in my labs, he said the OB office and the hospital different labs so there could be a discrepancy. At this point I was 5.2 weeks pregnant so my hcg should be way higher than my 4.3 week labs even with the discrepancy, right? The radiology tech said I was measuring at 5.2 weeks which kept me hopeful and that’s what was written in my report, buuuut as I was leaving the ER doc popped into my room and told me that the radiologist actually said I was measuring at 4 weeks. I was devastated. The next day I called my OB office and told them about my ER visit, they looked at my ultrasound and basically said all we can do is wait and schedule an appt for an ultrasound in a week to see if there’s a heartbeat. They told me that an ultrasound is a better indicator of how the pregnancy is progressing than hcg labs, but that the labs were abnormal. I know my labs were on the higher end for 4.3 weeks, and hcg can kind of “slow” down towards week 6, but I’m not there yet. The only symptoms I’ve had during this pregnancy is fatigue and tender breast, which I still have. My second ultrasound is in two days, I’ve had no cramping, bleeding/spotting, or lose of symptoms, but I’m scared I’m experiencing a missed miscarriage. Has anyone else been in my situation? Any medical professionals have any insight? My son is 13, Ive had one chemical pregnancy, and now this situation. I’m 32 and my partner is 40. Help!
