Is this normal for first period after giving birth

I think its my period because I stopped bleeding like 3 week ago started having period cramps last week and then bleeding two days ago... but now it's pretty heavy and at this point normally lighten up is it normal for your first period after a baby to be a little longer and a bit heavier that normal
