“The Day We Met” Pt. 21

Ally: Mom, I’m sure Andy has plans.

Marie: Do you, Andy?

Andy: I was actually heading to lunch.

Ally: See, mom.

Marie: Oh, where to?

Andy: To Lou Ellen’s. It’s an Italian restaurant off of the

Marie: The lake front?

Andy: You know it?

Marie: I’ve always wanted to try it out. Ally use to work there. Is it good?

Andy: Oh the best! My mom owns it.

Marie: Perfect!

Sage grabbed Andy’s hand. Andy looked down & smiled & then looked at Ally.

Marie: She’s not the only one with a crush on him.

Marie elbowed Ally to tease her.

Ally: Mom…

They arrived at the restaurant & Andy walked in with full confidence as if he owned the place. He kinda did after all since his mom owned the place. Andy waved to the waiters & greeted them one by one. The cooks came out to give him high fives. Andy sat Sage up on the front counter. Andy looked over at Ally.

Andy: Hey, Ally, is this alright?

Ally smiled & nodded in approval.

Andy: Hey, Sage. What’s your favorite cookie?

Sage: That’s a tough question. I’d have to say my most favorite one is the snickerdoodle.

Andy: How would you like a fresh snickerdoodle right now?

Sage: That would be so cool!

Andy tapped the counter. A baker stuck his head out.

Andy: Hey Freddy! How about one of them snickerdoodles?

Freddy: Hot & fresh for you, Andy!

Freddy handed Andy a plate with 2 hot snickerdoodles. Andy & Sage each picked up a cookie.

Andy: What do you think, Sage?

Sage: These are the best snickerdoodles in the entire world.

Andy: Really? I don’t know about the entire world, but they’re definitely the best in town. Hey how about we find a seat & then we can have more cookies later? Does that sound good?

Sage nodded as she continued to nibble on her cookie.

Host: Hi there, do you have reservations?

Andy: They’re with me, Marty.

Host: Ah, Andy! Good to see you. Of course. Where would you like to sit? Perhaps a window seat?

Andy: It’s a really pretty day out. How about something on the patio?

Marie oohed & whispered patio to Ally.

Host: Right this way.

The host led the group to a table outside on the patio. It was the best table in the house. Ally was impressed & loved how happy Sage looked. She was happy herself. Marie could see how happy Andy made her daughter & granddaughter & that couldn’t make her any happier.
