Cousins sharing name??

My cousins live 1,000+ miles away. I haven’t seen them since their first was a newborn, probably 7-8 years ago, I think they have 3 more kids?? Chances of us seeing them are relatively slim as my uncle has been doing his best to disintegrate ties amongst his siblings. My grandparents are still living and that’s the only reason I’d have to see these cousins and that’s only if we happen to be in the same area during our yearly visit. Anyways the name I’ve always wanted for a daughter if I was blessed with one was used by them for their youngest 2 years ago. I’m having my daughter here in a month or so and she’s still nameless because we keep going back to this name. So my question is do we use the same name?? Or would that be weird?

If I was close to them or saw them on a regular basis, I wouldn’t use it. But in your case, go for it!

I would just go for it.
I have been okay close to my cousins but I would still use a name I loved despite them using it. We see each other so rarely and the kids will likely never really have anything to do with each other.

I don’t think it matters. We named our son the same as my cousin who I haven’t seen or talked to in forever. There is a difference in spelling but I don’t think it matters either way.

Use it. I named my son Logan, the same name my cousins named their son and idgaf and turns out they couldn’t care less either! If I had another son I would name him Jordan and the exact same cousins named their daughter Jordan, and again idgaf and if they did then it wouldn’t be my problem! Name your kid what you want.

I've known first cousins who are close that share the same/,similar names. In one set of cousins, I s*** you not, there were 3 Maria, 2 Marie, 1 Mary and 1 Marion lol ridiculous, but it worked out I guess.

Probably not weird. My dads cousin named one of their sons the same name as my brother. We only saw them maybe once a year if that when we were kids and I don’t think my brother has been to a family reunion as an adult since my grandma passed. 
If they were first cousins maybe. Although that being said I wouldn’t choose the same name any of my cousins have named their kids but we are also much closer. Living within an hour of each other and see them at least twice a year (pre-covid).

Use the name! My mom and her sister (who are very close) both loved the same name so my aunt used it first then six years later my mom used it. 
They spelt it differently though> Roxanne (my sister), Roxane (my cousin).
