Irritation

I have been experiencing a lot of vaginal irritation lately, just to clarify it is at the site of the vagina but everywhere else is fine. I went to my gyno in January and asked and she said this is normal it happens for everyone but women are just polite enough not to scratch their junk in public. She said everything looked normal. However should I get tested for STDs? I thought she’d recommend it if she saw a problem but sometimes I can’t remember if I’ve always felt like this or not so is this how other women feel throughout the day? Slight irritation and itch?
