TTC help

I have been TTC for months and I finally started my period and of April and had intercourse all through my ovulation. Ovulation ended the 13th of may. My period is supposed to start next week but I’m having symptoms. Is it too early to test or can I go ahead and test? And what would the best test be to text a week before missed period?
