How do you pump when baby needs to be held?

How are you managing to pump with a newborn? My daughter starts crying the second I put her down, and so I get about 5 minutes into a pump before I have to go get her. I have a pump with wires so I have to unplug and get up, and even with my wireless it can be so hard to hold her. I honestly am struggling with the logistics - she’s crying as I type this, trying to get a bit of pumping in. Can anyone help me with the logistics of this?

I had the same problem until a friend of mine suggested that I get a rechargeable battery operated breast pump. It sits in your bra and leaves your hands free so you can pick up the little one while it keeps pumping. Game changer for me! It's even more comfortable than my Medela pump

I think something is wrong with me because I can’t figure out how to hold her & pump simultaneously. She gets caught in the wires and they aren’t long enough to wrap around her easily. I wish I could see how you manage!

I pump T the same time she eats, so I will prop her up sitting next to me so I can pump while she drinks her bottle. I then stop pump and pick her up to burp her while I’m putting my milk and stuff away.
