Overbearing husband.. but is he right?

From the beginning my husband has been a little more protective of our son than me. I’m just more laid back in general. Sometimes it’s annoying but it’s mostly sweet and I think it’s a good balance. However, my mom is buying one of those $50 pools that you can just sit in and relax (we live in FL). She wants me and the baby to come over and I wanted to bring Declan in the pool just as a new experience. I fully plan to have him in a SPF bathing suit and hat, but my husband says he’s too young; he’s 7 weeks, and that we need to wait for his vaccines, even though it’s not chlorine or even a public pool.

Idk am I being too lax and he’s right?
