Implantation bleeding or breakthrough bleeding

So I’m new to all of this. I’m new to birth control and i just started some spotting. When i wipe there brown blood. I’m cramping a lot. That’s considered breakthrough bleeding? I’ve been cramping for a couple hours and feel like I’m bleeding but it only shows up when i wipe. It’s very little.

Is this normal? How long is it suppose to last? Should i tell my doctor?

I was also wondering what’s the difference between breakthrough bleeding and implantation bleeding?

I had protected sex every time with my partner and as well as being on birth control (this my second month)
