Large gestational age at 33 weeks

I recently had my doctors appointment this past Monday. I was 32+6. Doctor measured me and said I was measuring at 36 weeks. He said my last appointment I measured ahead as well.

Anyways, he said he was going to order an ultrasound to see what baby is measuring at. So I asked him does that mean early induction? He said the hospital I’d be delivering at doesn’t do inductions based on larger babies. Well that of course made me ask if that meant c-section. He said if the ultrasound shows that baby will be say 11 pounds that we may need to discuss things.

My first baby, a daughter - almost 3, was 7 lbs 13 oz at birth. At my 27/28 week ultrasound to see growth, baby was measuring at an estimated 2 lbs 13 oz and 53% in growth so right on track.

So this leads me to asking others, if it was determined at a growth scan for you that baby was going to be larger, what were your options? Induction? C-section? Natural? And when they arrived, was baby in fact “larger”?

Really trying to mentally prepare myself for a c-section if that’s the route that’s determined best.
