I have a “whatever else theory” but it’s a little odd. I guess by urine color. Strange but I’ve been correct and there’s a bit of truth to it. 
Basically: 
Neon greenish/yellow morning pee= boy
Straw or dull yellow morning pee= girl 
I read something about the neon color in a scientific article. I forget how it works and if you have to be at a week but I’ve been correct on my guesses from it so far. It’s definitely just for fun though!
