IVF or IUI ?

Hey ladies! My left tube is blocked. And my fertility doctor told me that I could still get pregnant with one tube. My partner just had varicocele surgery. I was given an option to start IUI before surgery and IVF after surgery: I decline IUI and chose to do IVF . But we have to wait 3 to 5 months to see if the surgery worked. Should I still consider IUI ? I’m afraid it may not work . Any of you got pregnant successfully?

I had a blocked tube as well. I did an iui because i had to for insurance purposes. It didn’t work. 
I’ve done two ivf transfers and both have worked. So my first baby is an ivf baby. My second baby is a natural pregnancy because we didn’t think we could get pregnant naturally so we weren’t always careful. I’m now currently pregnant with my third and this is an ivf baby as well.

I had left tube blocked and my husbands sperm only had 1% normal. We did the HSG to unblock my tube then did IUI with sperm wash a couple months after. Currently 31 weeks pregnant from our 1st try with IUI. Drs confirmed the egg ovulated from the left side. I would highly suggest trying IUI before moving on to IVF. Its is so much less expensive, and less stressful  then IVF. I totals we paid $2800 including all the tests, meds, and procedures. Our insurance didnt cover any thing aside from some of the meds costs, but alot of insurance will cover 3-6cycles
