The past couple of weeks have been stressful for me. I was having right side pain at 5 weeks and 5 days which brought me to the OB earlier than usual. I’m prone to get ovarian cysts and that is what it felt like but now that I’m pregnant I was thinking I had an ectopic pregnancy. They ruled out a cyst or ectopic pregnancy but then the real stress came when they said they did not see a fetal pole or heartbeat. The doctor went on to say. I can’t promise you this is a viable pregnancy come back next week for another scan. So I spent the whole week and a day worrying couldn’t even enjoy time with family during Memorial Day weekend. I go back yesterday they found the fetal pole and I saw the heartbeat. I’m just wondering maybe for first time pregnant women is it even worth it to go to your first ultrasound before 7 or 8 weeks? All it’s going to do is stress you out if you don’t see what you expect to see? I would only advise if you are having one sided heavy cramps or heavy bleeding
