Basically, my dad is oriental and my mum is english.

I look more like my oriental dad, my sister looks more like my british mum. I could pass for fully oriental, she could pass for fully british.

She tends to go for the most hurtful places possible if she gets mad at someone.

On multiple occasions now, I've asked her something innocuous (like asking her to move over so i can fit on the couch), and she's gotten really mad and then called me a chink or something similar.

And I just don't know how to deal with it. My parents can only do so much when she outright defies them and refuses to apologise and continues to verbally disparage me.

She knows that I've had problems with racism before, and she knows that it's a really sore point for me, yet uses it to hurt me anyway.

But she's only 11, and I don't know what to do. She's my sister and I love her, but she's been behaving awfully for months now, and it's really hurtful to get racist comments in the one place you'd think was safe from it.

I just...I don't know how to handle or deal with this, and my parents are overwhelmed with health issues and work issues and everything issues and they can't be there to discipline a child who outright refuses to listen 24/7.

How does one deal with racism coming from one's own family?
