Can i do both? Baptise and dedicate my kids?😭

So my mom wants me to dedicate my kids through christian church but then my mother in law wants me to baptize at a catholic 😪😫 i want to do both because thats their religions.  I dont want to do just one because they will be mad and upset 😢 or if not i wont do NEITHER

I don’t think you should be having your child do different religious ceremonies to appease your family. Religion is very important and you should do what YOU think is best for your child. If Catholicism is it, then do it. If Christianity is it, then do it. But these decisions shouldn’t be made to please people.

What is YOUR and your partner’s religion? How do you intend to raise the kids? Baptisms and dedications are about more than just a ceremony for family. They involve making a bunch of promises on how you intended to raise them and live your lives. Have them baptized or dedicated (or nothing, that’s a perfectly acceptable choice too) according to what the two of you believe and are comfortable with. You’re the ones making promises. 
My fiancés family is very very Catholic. We have zero intentions of baptizing our baby because neither of us a follow the religion and neither are comfortable standing in front of a bunch of people in a church and lying or leaving out that we won’t be following any of the other church doctrine. To us, it just feels wrong and disrespectful.  But only you can decide what path is right for your family. Good luck. It’s hard with family who all think they know what’s best.

What do YOU want for your child? That’s what matters. They can be upset about whatever decision you make but at the end of the day it is your choice and you shouldn’t make decisions to appease others because then you end up in situations like this. Be confident in yourself and your choices.

If you want to do both you’ll need to reach out to both parishes and see what their specific rules are. I wouldn’t expect them to be enthusiastic about the idea though.

I don’t think you can do both , regardless it’s not their choice to make. It’s yours and if you prefer one over the other or none they will have to accept  it and move on. Don’t let them pressure you into it , who cares if they get mad .
