Anyone else’s baby?

My boy is 9 weeks - 12.8lbs and wearing 3/6 month clothes! Yet at his 2 month appointment he was in the 50-60th percentile for height and weight. That should mean he’s pretty average, no? So why are clothes so damn small? When people buy him stuff it doesn’t fit because they assume sizes equal age.

Sizing of clothes depends on the company. They're not all the same.

Ya. Sizing doesn’t equal age at all. I always asked people to buy bigger. Like you know for a fact it won’t fit bigger so she can grow into them. So right now if my mom or siblings get her something, they buy 18m! 
My daughter finally just hit 18th percentile at 9 months old (she was a 4 pound preemie). Clothes size to age has been accurate for her since 3-4 months old. So I’d say clothing size to age is only if babe is under 20th percentile. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️
Shes now 9.5m old. She wears some 6-9, 9m, and 12m clothes depending on the brand. Shes 16-17lbs.

The clothes sizes are based on weight and I guess whoever determined the sizes didn’t know what an average baby weighs at 3-6 months. my son is almost 8 months and wears 6 months in some things but can still fit some of his 3-6 month pajamas. he’s 16 pounds and was 5lb 15oz at birth. which is like the 5% 🤷🏻‍♀️

Clothes are a jungle. Sizes and brands and what size to use with which brand is a nightmare to figure out.
We found a few brands that fitteded nicely and all I've cared about since is what measurements they roughly should fit.
