Baby spit up?

My newborn is 1 week old, past 2 days he’s been spitting up a little and when he’s eating (from my breast) milk dribbles and he has to pull away to catch his breath. Today milk came out of his nose before he even latched on, he wants to eat every hour sometimes every 2 hours. What should I do, is this normal?

Sounds like an overactive letdown.
Try hand expressing or using a haakaa until milk starts flowing. Then attach babe!

If it keep coming out his nose, have the pediatrician check to make sure he doesn't have a submuccous cleft pallet

Your letdown may just be too forceful for him right now, what you can do is when he seems like he’s getting hungry use a haaka on your breast you’re going to use first and trigger a letdown so that way you’ll catch milk to save and he won’t have to struggle to keep it in!
