Potty training?

Question

Leo’s been an absolute nightmare the last week when it comes to nappy changes and its an absolute task to get them done
To the point where I’m considering…do I try and start potty training
Has anyone else tried it yet or had their little ones kicking off at changing time?? Nothing seems to work (distractions, toys etc)

We have started a week or 2 ago purely because my son was showing signs and saying when he had been for a 'wee wee'. He turned 20 months on 4th June. I have a potty in the kitchen and one in the living room now. Initially I tried to catch the first few in a potty as they were happening then gave lots of praise. He got the gist after a few goes. 
I keep his nappy off and clothing off from the waist down when we are in the house and he is choosing to use the potty for wee now. We make a big deal about taking the potty to the toilet and waving 'bye bye to the wee wee' before flushing it which he thinks is great 😄.
My other Son I introduced the potty after his 2nd birthday - they are all different and will be ready when they are ready. Loads of praise helped my 2, and ignoring any accidents xx

We've been slowly potty training since the new year. He was very very young when we started but he was showing all kinds of interest in his potty so we said 'what the hell' and just keep it relaxed and basically only do it when he took initiative, which has been great! Now, we're trying harder for the same reason as you, diaper changes are a disaster, he always runs away or is just a little butthead about it. He digs at his diaper when he has to pee or has already dirtied it. So now I'm watching his cues if he doesn't tell me or show me he needs it. 
My mom's been doing the same for months and he does great at her house but he is her sole focus when he goes there.
