C section stories?

C section in 3 weeks. I need my nerves calmed. 
What’s the best way to calm the nerves? 😬 Also can I hear some c section stories? 😭

I’ve had 4!! It is scary it never gets easier but it will be over quickly and once they get the baby out it’s a good distraction healing is a little rough but you will make it!! Try to stay calm and just focus on getting ready for baby sleep all you can lol once they are here it’s all over

I’ve had 3. My first was due to lack of progression and failed induction. My other 2 were “planned”. Both came before the scheduled date. All of mine were pretty easy. I actually left the hospital after 1 day this last time. Overall, they’re quick procedure wise. Before I even know it the baby is out, all you feel is some tugging. If you receive spinal anesthesia the back pain from it can be pretty bad for a week or so, I used heating pads and pain relief patches for it. It’s important to know your limits. You definitely want to walk, but don’t over do it. 
I recently saw they make underwear that are high rise and have built in areas for ice/heating packs. I can’t remember the brand though. Of course, I found them 3 weeks after my last C-section so couldn’t try them, but definitely would have otherwise.

I had a pretty easy easy c section with minimal pain after I never needed any narcotics. They had my son out fast and they cut the cord long so my hubby could still cut it. Try to get walking asap afterwards. It sounds crazy but it helps. Just don’t over do it.

I had a 27 hour labor. I was induced. I ended up having a csec at the end and it took 11 minutes. Wished I had taken that route to begin with. Being induced was extremely awful. Never again. I was upset that it was my safest option at that point in time but years down the road I realize how simple it was. I will choose csec for my next!

I had a scheduled c-sec for #2 after a horribly traumatic vaginal birth (4th degree tear and PPH) with #1. It was honestly a breeze for me. I’d do it again 100%. Just keep up on your stool softeners and stay on a schedule for your pain medicine. Don’t let your bladder get full. The actual surgery is the worst part, but it’s short lived!

My story wasn’t that good so I won’t share the negatives. The positives were that if you feel sick they can give you meds to counteract it, they have baby out fairly quickly and you get to have skin to skin. If they manage to place the needle first time that’s a bonus but that didn’t happen for me so that’s a downside. Make sure to keep your wound aired out as much as possible and dry and clean. Too much moisture will make it infected. So as long as your able to get a few moments throughout the day to do self care you should be fine. Like someone else stated walk around as much as you can but don’t overdo it as it helps you heal. Take it slow when sitting up though because that’ll be difficult for awhile but you should feel minimal pain when done slowly or with assistance because I found that challenging but it’s only temporary. Take pain relief when you need it too

I was really against having a c-section. They freak me out and I desperately wanted to avoid an epidural because I hate needles. But I ended up having to have an emergency c-section after 8 hours of labor. It really wasn’t that bad. It went fast. It was not at all painful and my husband was able to be right there with me. The only issue I had was that the medication made me nauseous and I threw up once after the baby was out. 
The c-section will be fine. Try not to worry. It’s a weird experience but not a bad one. The worst part is the recovery so just try to take it slow. Remember you just had major surgery, so no sudden movements and make sure you have an area of your house ready with a comfortable/supportive place to rest and recover that is easy to get in and out of. It’s probably not your bed. Turning to get in and out of bed is extremely painful the first week or so. I found that out the hard way and then lived on the couch for awhile.
