To the point where his coworker texted him “they’re playing your gfs song in the restaurant.” (At first I thought it was about me but really it was about his celebrity crush Ariana grande) I also  saw texts where he told his female bestie “it’s more than just looks tho, I like the way she carries herself with respect & dignity”

There's a line between everything if that makes sense. Everyone has a celebrity crush and it's quite normal to have one. Unless he has some crazy shrine of her, it seems pretty normal to me. And she's a celebrity, anyone would be lying if they say that they don't have a celebrity crush

My bigger issue would be the double standard. If he feels theres nothing wrong with it, then you should be able to do the same with no problems from him. If hes not ok with you doing the same, then he actually feels theres actually an element of disloyalty and he shouldnt do it, either. Unless he discusses it privately with others, but you do it in his face just to upset him?

I think there’s an issue but not with having a celebrity crush. If he’s getting upset and telling you you’re immature because you talk about yours but goes on about what “qualities” (because celebrities all play a character to play to an audience) he likes about his, 😬. I would talk to him and ask him to explain exactly what he thinks the difference is and tell him if it’s acceptable to joke around with his “gf” than it’s completely fair for you to joke about your “bf.”

it can be harmless sure but if it makes you feel some type of way then there’s other issues at hand. is he bringing up crush on her to you in random convos? do you feel disrespected? does he compare you? does it make you feel less worthy? is it just a lighthearted joking thing or does he have a freaking shrine and shit? if yes then have a talk. tell him how it makes you feel. your feelings are VALID. the person you love shouldn’t make you feel so self conscious even if it’s about a celebrity. i know people have diff opinions a lot of people are mostly cool with celebrity crushes but it’s still a slap to the face (me included). and i know we shouldn’t look for validation from our partner about our own self worth but if it affects it it’s worth talking about.
