Shaving?

So I've read on a few posts and comments now that your not suppose to shave down below when close to giving birth? Why is this?

I'm on baby #5 and I've never heard of this before... I like to keep myself clean before because I know the blood after wards gets all nasty and clumpy in your hair if you don't, on me anyways.

I shaved with my first and will with this one I’ve never been told not to. Just think of the mess🥴 when i started having consistent contractions enough to start timing i jumped in the shower and made sure EVERYTHING was taken care of!

If you nick yourself, they’re concern is some goop can get in there & cause infection. I’m on baby #3 & I’ve shaved/naired with them all! Just not close, I try to do at least 2-3 days before my induction. Hair is hard to clean with all the blood I produce 🤢 just can’t do it lol

I have always had c sections and I’ve shaved with all of them and will with this one too. I’ve never had problems and never been told not to.

Im guessing it's the same with vaginal as section, but I know you shouldn't before a section because of the bacteria that can be there from shaving.... They did it for me anyway during my section haha... By close though they mean like 48 hours so like very close lol....

I know you aren't supposed to shave if you're having a c section. They will shave any hair that needs to be removed. I suppose it makes sense to not shave if there's a chance you'll need a c section.

I have shaved with my first two ( one vaginal one c section ) I had my pre op consultation at the beginning of the month and they told me not to so there is no risk of infection. Will I follow this advice  ? Probably no.

I’ve never heard this. I shaved with my first & I’ll shave with this one too. Probably do it a few days before I have my c section, maybe not fully but atleast a good clean up. I don’t like being hairy & I’ve never been told not to or heard that you can’t.

My husband just used his electrical facial razor to clean me up a couple hours ago! I stood on top of a trash bag, it’s way easier to stand and him kneel and do it as we tried different positions. I showered right after and it feels so much better without all the extras.
