Chunky CM before ovulation

Can this just be normal? It’s not an infection because I have no symptoms and I always get it every cycle after my period and in the days on the run up to ovulation. It changes to no lumps and more white lotion type cm but I just hate this stage! Anyone else have similar and it be normal?
