Clearblue digital ovulation test

I was doing an experiment today with my ovulation tests.... I use the same digital reader every time and just buy new aticks and typically throw the readers out. Today I used both a new and my usual reader and one came back a big "O" and the other a blinking smiley.... when I pulled the sticks out both had two lines...what's the deal?
