Is this normal blood work for anemia in pregnancy?

I was told to take iron supplements but i’m so scared it’s something sinister even though my doctor told me it’s just anemia/ low iron

Yeah this is normal. Low iron is normal in pregnancy because your blood volume increases but your hemoglobin and hematocrit volume does not. This leads to slight anemia in pregnancy, very very common and nothing to worry about if your doctor is monitoring it. Most will just have yoy on a prenatal with iron or on an iron supplement.

Anemia in pregnancy (especially later in pregnancy) is common and typically harmless. It’s dilutional. Basically your plasma volume (the liquid portion of the blood) increases dramatically during pregnancy. Red blood cells are still produced at the same rate so the blood is “diluted” hence the anemia. Totally normal.
